The Use of Argon in Wine Preservation

Posted by admin to Business ,Health

Like nitrogen and carbon dioxide, argon is one other gas that has become readily available in the market because of its many uses in different industries.  It is the preferred gas used for wine preservation because it is colorless, odorless and heavier than oxygen.  Once argon is injected into a wine bottle, it stays just above the wine surface acting as a protective shield.  As argon is heavier than oxygen, it keeps the oxygen away thereby preventing oxidation.  This help preserves the integrity of the wine.  Wineries make use of the argon gas technology for wine preservation.  You would see bars and restaurants making use of the argon cylinder in its dispensing regulator system to preserve the freshness of leftover wine.  With the argon gas acting as a barrier that keeps the harmful effects of oxygen once a wine bottle has been opened, they can be sure that the wine retains its freshness until the last glass is poured.
